FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What should I expect at my first visit?

The Institute treats people, not the disease. The first visit is an in-depth conversation about health history, lifestyle and goals, followed by a personalized plan combining Ayurveda, Naturopathy and Acupuncture as appropriate.

Do you take insurance?

The practice’s naturopathic physicians are in-network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, ConnectiCare and Oxford. Patients should confirm their plan covers naturopathic care.

Is Ayurveda covered by insurance?

Ayurvedic treatments are generally not covered by insurance. First visits and return visits are usually covered by the in-network insurers listed above.

What is colon hydrotherapy and is it safe?

Colon hydrotherapy is a gentle, water-based cleanse of the large intestine performed by trained practitioners in a private setting. It supports digestion and detox and pairs well with the Institute’s Ayurvedic and naturopathic programs. Call the office with any questions; the team is happy to explain what to expect.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

The office asks for 24 hours’ notice if a patient is unable to keep an appointment.
